Service Description

Join Meg’s Meadow for a relaxed and creative willow weaving workshop – Bird Feeders, perfect for beginners looking to learn the fundamentals of this beautiful, traditional craft. In this hands-on session, you’ll be guided through a range of beginner weaving techniques and will create two different styles of handmade willow bird feeders, including a classic fat ball feeder. These woven willow structures are not only practical and sustainable, but also make a charming addition to the garden. As well as looking lovely hanging from trees or fences, they provide a valuable food source for garden birds during the nesting season, when extra nourishment is especially important. This workshop is designed with beginners in mind, so no previous weaving experience is needed. You’ll work with natural willow and learn techniques you can build on at home for future garden projects. Meg will guide you step by step through the process, sharing her expert techniques for working with natural, sustainably sourced willow to build something sturdy, stylish, and completely made by you. Please note that willow weaving can be surprisingly physical work, and some strength and dexterity in the hands is required. You’ll leave the workshop with your finished bird feeders, new skills, and plenty of inspiration to continue exploring garden willow weaving at home. £45 per person – includes all materials, tool use, step-by-step guidance from Meg, plus hot and cold drinks and a delicious brownie to enjoy while you weave. With just 8 spaces available, expect a small, friendly group and plenty of one-to-one support in a relaxed, creative atmosphere. OUR CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY Please note: We need a minimum of 48 hours of notice, to cancel your place on a workshop/class. We can offer you a transfer to another workshop (with same value) or a gift voucher to use on a future date. Payments for workshops/classes are generally non-refundable. We liken it to buying a theatre ticket. Some of the work has taken place ahead of the actual session and the flowers, which are perishable / materials to be used have been purchased. You are welcome to send someone else in your place instead. Just let us know their contact details as soon as possible. 100% non-refundable under 48 hours of notice of cancellation
