British Spring Time Blooms

Here at Bedfordshire Flower School we always aim to work with the best each season has to offer and where possible we use local British Growers for as much of our Flower School flowers and foliage as we can.

As we welcome 2023 we are hosting several Spring time workshops, working with the seasons to use as much British Grown flowers and foliage as possible, we work closely with several local independent British Flower Farms such as… The Walled Garden Flower Farm in Old Warden, Bedfordshire, Saxon Gate Flowers in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire and Merri Flowers in Oakley, Bedfordshire.

In The U.K we have an abundance of Spring Flowers when the weather is kind, full of colour and scent producing the most stunning arrangements and displays.

As a business we aim to work as much as possible with what each season has to offer, British Spring time offers an abundance of stunning colours, scents and textures from so many flowers and foliage that come into bloom after the cold winter months subside.

Some of my favourites are Tulips, all colours and textures! These spring time bulb blooms offer amazing versatility in arrangements and bouquets and always remind me of easter time.

Tulips are grown from a bulb and susceptible to the damp so we are lucky to get British grown Tulips early on in the spring season.

Last spring we had the pleasure of working with stunning Tulips Grown by Peta at Saxon Gate Flower Farm in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.

Narcissi or Daffodil are also a popular choice in spring, from delicate “Tate-e-tate” to traditional Yellow large trumpet Daffodils ( the Welsh national flower). These beauties have stood the test of time with popularity and now are also the recognisable symbol of MarieCurie cancer support charity here in the U.K

Another of my favourites to work with on statement designs is fruit tree Blossom, these delicate blooms offer structure with scented flowers for any floral design.
