Gemstone Jewellery Workshop - by Rachel Sokhal from Rachel Sokhal Bridal - Guest Writer

I’m Rachel and I fell in love with jewellery making back in 2010 and trained at the London Jewellery School in various different jewellery techniques before starting my own bridal accessory business in 2015.

I’m now hugely excited to be collaborating with Kirsty to bring to you a series of jewellery workshops over the coming months, where you get to make your very own jewellery! We’re starting with a simple workshop initially, one for everyone, in which you’ll get to make and take your very own pieces away with you. I’m passionate about helping people realise the love for a new skill and really look forward to seeing everyone feel triumphant and accomplished at the end of the workshop. But BEWARE – it can become addictive! But that’s because it is so rewarding and so therapeutic that you’ll wonder why you’ve never started before.

I work with only the finest components in my own business and so I wanted to bring something a little more luxurious to the workshops by only working with real gemstones, Swarovski beads and sterling silver findings. You can come along and make beautiful pieces for yourself or a really personal gift for a loved one, how wonderful would they feel knowing you’ve made it for them? Alternatively, why not purchase a gift voucher for the workshop for a birthday or anniversary or even just because…! If you have always wanted to try something new, or admired pieces of handmade jewellery and thought…I wish I could make that, then now is the time.

I can’t wait to meet you all and attending a workshop with me will enable you to have step by step instructions for each stage of the jewellery we will make (plus a printed copy too). The beauty also is that I will be on hand to answer any questions or help you if you get stuck at any stage. I will talk about all the beautiful gemstones that we’re working with and all the tools necessary to get you on your way should you get ‘bitten by the bug’, just like I did, and want to have a go yourself after. Plus, if that wasn’t enough, don’t forget there’s unlimited tea plus yummy cakes too, what’s not to love?! Snap up your place now as they really are strictly limited at the moment and I don’t want you missing out. See you soon, Rachel xx
